The Blues get Thomas Bordeleau and a conditional 2026 4th-round pick in return.
Bjugstad has one more year remaining on his deal, at a $1.75 million cap hit.
The 6'6" depth center has played only 35 games this season, and has six goals, seven points and 73 hits. The Devils needed to add some size to their roster, and this certainly helps.
Bjugstad is a 14-year NHL veteran who, in addition to the Blues, has also suited up for the the Florida Panthers, Arizona Coyotes, Utah Mammoth, Minnesota Wild, Pittsburgh Penguins, and Edmonton Oilers.
In 795 career NHL games, he has registered 163 goals and 174 assists for 337 points, with 1,291 hits.
Bordeleau is a 24-year-old center, a former second-round pick (2020 NHL Draft) of the San Jose Sharks. He's gotten into 44 games with the Sharks over the last four seasons. This year, he's been with the Utica Comets of the AHL, registering eight points and 37 penalty minutes in 35 games.
