NHL Trade Rumors: Maple Leafs will sell despite recent win streak
Just because the Toronto Maple Leafs have won three games in a row heading into their Olympic break doesn't mean GM Brad Treliving is going to slow down the trade conversations.
Multiple reports have surfaced stating the Maple Leafs are open for business, which could include selling off some of their top trade assets, while also adding long-term options for the roster.
Bobby McMann and Oliver Ekman-Larsson hold the most value on the trade market when it comes to the Leafs' roster, and don't be surprised to see the likes of Calle Jarnkrok, Scott Laughton, Simon Benoit, and Brandon Carlo moved ahead of the March trade deadline.
The Maple Leafs are on the outside looking in at the playoff picture in the Eastern Conference, and Treliving will need to get creative, and actually win a trade, if he's going to improve the team heading into next season. If Treliving misses on his next couple of deals, don't be surprised to see the Maple Leafs make a GM change in the summer.
McMann's been linked to the Edmonton Oilers for a few weeks now and could also be in play for the Colorado Avalanche. There's been speculation that Treliving could fetch upwards of a first-round pick for the 29-year-old winger, or a top prospect and a second rounder.
Ekman-Larsson's trade value has never been higher as a Maple Leaf, as he's been their most consistently defenceman, and someone who contending teams will see as a perfect veteran complement for their top four.
While the Maple Leafs are going to make moves, many in Leafs Nation wonder when Treliving will finally ask Morgan Rielly for a list of teams he'd approve a trade to.
