Shocking New Name Emerging as Canucks Trade Candidate

The Vancouver Canucks have plenty of names available as the trade deadline approaches on March 6th. Defenseman Tyler Myers was even pulled from the lineup Wednesday night as he considers some trade offers the Canucks have received for him.

Other names we've heard plenty of buzz around include Evander Kane, Teddy Blueger, Conor Garland, Jake DeBrusk and even Elias Pettersson.

But now insider Darren Dreger tells us that he's now hearing Brock Boeser's name as well.
Is he willing to move? Well, he is, if there's a fit that makes sense to Boeser and his family. He's a playoff performer, so teams will express some interest.

It should be noted that Boeser never wanted to leave the Canucks last year at the deadline, and signed a new seven-year free agent deal with them ($7.25 million AAV) on July 1st last summer.

Despite Dreger's report, it would shock many around the sport if Boeser is dealt.

Canucks reporter Irfaan Gaffar says the chances of Boeser being traded are "insanely low." Boeser has spent his entire 10-year career in Vancouver, and with his new contract having a full no-move clause, "A LOT would have to go right for him to even consider" a move, writes Gaffar.

Boeser, like the rest of the last-place Cancuks, is having a down year, with only 12 goals and 26 points in 51 games. But he has six 20-goal seasons for the team, and that one big 40-goal breakout just two years back. He just celebrated his 29th birthday.
