Plus Vancouver is retaining 50 percent on remainder of Myers contract which makes him a $1.5-million player this year and next. https://t.co/8nR6S37U4f
They receive a second-rounder in 2027 and a fourth-rounder in 2029. Vancouver is retaining 50% of Myers' $3M cap hit for the remainder of this season and the final year on his deal next season.
The Detroit Red Wings were the first team to put an offer on the table, but he wasn't inclined to go there and used his no-move clause to block it.
Myers was born in Houston and still has some family there. The Stars were his first choice if he was forced to leave Vancouver. He was steadfast in his desire to stay on the Canadian west coast, and was a class act in his time in Vancouver.
Tyler Myers’ time in Vancouver was an unending roller coaster, highs in 20 and 24 and steep drops in between. But he was always a pro’s pro, on and off the ice. For a guy many disparaged upon arrival, Myers was a damn good Canuck. Teammates and reporters will miss him.

The Stars' blueline now boasts some crazy size, as they add the 6'8" Myers to a defense corps, and a third pairing, that also has 6'7" Lian Bichsel.
