NHL Rumors: New Team Emerging for Blues' Jordan Kyrou
According to The Hockey News' Stefen Rosner, Darche has called on both Kyrou and Robert Thomas, which suggests the Islanders are hunting for a true difference-maker with term, not just a rental patch.
Kyrou’s price has kept deals from getting off the ground in the past, but with the Blues sitting near the bottom of the standings, the timing suddenly makes a lot more sense for teams trying to swing big.
Mike Rupp wonders if the New York Islanders could be a fit for Jordan Kyrou.

“That would be the one team that I think can make it happen [in-season], and they've got Cole Eiserman, someone that they would be, I think, willing to move and be part of a package.” pic.twitter.com/jcpMNr6SrT
Kyrou's having a down year on a brutal Blues team, recording just 14 goals and 33 points across 50 games played.
Over his eight-year career, he's put up 164 goals and 365 total points across 466 games played. He's hit the 30+ goal mark in each of the past three seasons.
Doug Armstrong’s asking price starts with top Islanders prospects
The same report paints a clear picture of what Blues GM Doug Armstrong could be zeroing in on if Kyrou talks get serious here in the next couple of days.
One name Rosner tied to St. Louis’ interest is 2025 first-round defenseman Kashawn Aitcheson, who’s putting up huge OHL numbers this season (26 goals, 63 points in 48 games), and Islanders center prospect Danny Nelson (13 goals, 27 points in 33 games) has also been mentioned as a player drawing attention.
Islanders' prospect Cole Eiserman is also another name out there. The 19-year-old and former 20th overall pick has 15 goals and 23 points across 29 games played with Boston University this season, and would draw a ton of interest if made available in trade talks.

The Islanders can keep stacking the pipeline and try to out-develop everyone, or they can cash in some of that prospect depth for a prime-age finisher who changes the shape of their top six right now.
The Islanders are currently sitting comfortably in a playoff position with 75 points, which is six points ahead of the Washington Capitals, who are on the outside looking in.
