St. Louis Blues Rejected Minnesota Wild Trade Offer for Robert Thomas
The Minnesota Wild wanted to go all-in this season, but the St. Louis Blues had other ideas.
There's been multiple reports surfacing that the Wild made a serious trade offer for Blues' center Robert Thomas, which included goaltender Jesper Wallstedt and forward Danila Yurov.

Thomas was the talk of the trade deadline as the Blues were shopping him and Colton Parayko hard. Thomas was linked to the Wild, Montreal Canadiens, Philadelphia Flyers, Boston Bruins and Toronto Maple Leafs before March's trade deadline. There's certainly a very good chance the talks will resume and he'll be moved at the NHL Draft, or in the days leading up.
Thomas, 26, is signed through the 2031 season at $8.1 million AAV, and does own a no-trade clause, however, joining the Wild, who are a contender is certainly something that could interest Thomas this summer. The Maple Leafs are also looking hard for a second-line center and could ship a package built around Nick Robertson, Ben Danford, and Dennis Hildeby.
As for the Wild, they're expected to trade one of Wallstedt or Gustavsson as Bill Guerin looks to land a top-six forward and balance out his roster, which was exposed by the Colorado Avalanche these playoffs.
