Report: Calgary Flames Open to Trading 'Almost Everyone'
The Calgary Flames are open for business.
General manager Craig Conroy has been in contact with several executives this offseason and has made it very clear, almost everyone off their roster is in play in trade talks. Conroy has just four players who are deemed untouchable as the Flames continue to rebuild ahead of opening a brand new arena in 2027.
Daily Faceoff's Anthony Di Marco shed some light on the Flames situation and who exactly the team won't be including in trade discussions:
Speaking with team sources earlier in the week, DFO was told that the Flames will be entertaining a similar thought process this summer and are willing to trade just about anyone on their roster. According to sources, the Flames are “open to (move) any guys other than (goaltender) Dustin Wolf, (forwards) Matvei Gridin and Matt Coronato and defenseman Zayne Parekh."
Some notable names that weren't including on the no-fly list include Joel Farabee, Morgan Frost, Blake Coleman, Jonathan Huberdeau, who the Flames will certainly have to retain 50% of his contract.
Yegor Sharangovich is also among the trade candidates, and don't be surprised to see Conroy in talks to move Ryan Strome and Zach Whitecloud as well, as there was a ton of interesting in Whitecloud after the Flames acquired him for Rasmus Andersson.
The Flames are open for business, who gets traded first? Let us know in the comments.
