Mason McTavish's days as an Anaheim Duck are coming to an end.

Ducks general manager Pat Verbeek has been fielding trade calls for over a month, trying to find the right deal to move his disgruntled forward. There's been plenty of speculation about Montreal Canadiens, Toronto Maple Leafs, and the Washington Capitals, but reports have surfaced stating the Ducks are down to two offers, and the talks are with the New York Rangers and St. Louis Blues.

The Blues have a wealth of draft picks after making several big trades, and are looking to package them up for a young, plug and play top-six forward. McTavish certainly fits the bill and could give them a nice number-two center behind Robert Thomas. The Blues have confirmed that both Colton Parayko and Thomas will not be traded. The same can't be said about Jordan Binnington, who is going to be dealt to the Florida Panthers, Toronto Maple Leafs, or Edmonton Oilers.

As for the Rangers, they have Vincent Trocheck, but there's been plenty of reports he doesn't want to play on the west coast, and is likely not going to be involved in this trade. There's also a good chance it could be a three-way deal, if Trocheck is involved, which could mean the Canadiens, Hurricanes, or Maple Leafs are involved. Trocheck's been linked hard to those three teams over the last 48 hours.

As for McTavish, the 23-year-old forward is signed through the 2031 season at $7 million AAV. He doesn't own trade protection for a few more years, and can be traded at will. Once he was in and out of the lineup, and saw his minutes reduced when he was in, the writing starting showing up on the wall. After the season McTavish and Verbeek spoke, and agreed a trade is the best way forward.

Blues or Rangers? Where will McTavish end up?
