Blockbuster Senators Trade Sends Brady Tkachuk To Join Brother Matthew With Panthers
Hearing that the Florida Panthers are getting close to acquiring Brady Tkachuk from the Ottawa Senators.

I believe Ottawa will get three first-round picks and a second-round pick in the deal if finalized. More to come.
Ottawa will receive three first-round picks and a second-rounder. Picks #9 and #25 in this week's upcoming Draft, a second-rounder in 2027, and another first-rounder (conditional) in 2029.
My understanding is the Senators also had conversations with Carolina and Vegas, other teams that were on Tkachuk's list. I also think Minnesota was on the list. Four-team list but in the end, Brady obviously wanted to go join his brother in Florida.

Senators made the best of a…
Insider Pierre LeBrun, who first broke the story, says that Tkachuk submitted a short list of four teams he'd accept a trade to, and the Sens had conversations with the Carolina Hurricanes and the Vegas Golden Knights as well. Minnesota was also on the list.
But of course, uniting with his brother in Florida is the best-case scenario for Brady.
What a Father's Day for former NHLer Keith Tkachuk.
Brady, 26, has two years left on his contract at an $8.2M AAV. He's eligible for an extension next summer. His brother Matthew, who he'll now line up with in South Florida, has four years remaining on his current deal.
This move by the Panthers was made possible, at least in some small part, by their acquisition of that #25 pick in this year's first round in Sunday's earlier trade of Mackie Samoskevich to the Seattle Kraken. That gave Ottawa two 2026 first-rounders to add to their collection, which now stands at three for next week's Draft.
LeBrun adds that the Senators tried to snatch 24-year-old center Anton Lundell as part of this trade, but the Panthers refused, as they "view him as a 1C. Didn't want to trade him."
And so, the inevitable, as alluded to at the outset, has come to fruition. Brady Tkachuk has followed in his brother's footsteps, leaving Canada to join his brother in Florida.
It was clear to the #Sens that Brady Tkachuk didn't want to be here. Felt that this was going to happen sooner rather than later. He had no intention of signing here.
