The Dallas Stars have been dealing with a lot of drama lately related to Jason Robertson's contract, but that doesn't mean they can't take care of other business. The team announced on Friday, they've re-signed Jamie Benn to a one-year contract, worth $850,000.

Benn turns 37 this month, and in 60 games last season in Dallas, posted 16 goals and 21 assists, for 37 points. Benn averaged just 13:17 of ice-time per game, including a depth power-play role, and while his role with the Stars has changed drastically over the last couple of years, he's still a huge part of the dressing room, and organization as a whole.

There was some speculation that Benn would be retiring, but that's obviously been put to bed at this point.  Benn was originally a 2007 fifth-round pick of the Stars and has played his entire career for the franchise. Benn enters next season with 1252 regular season games under his belt, and another 126 Stanley Cup Playoff games. He was held pointless in six postseason games earlier this year, and will be looking for redemption.

The Stars provided Benn with some incentives on his contract per PuckPedia, including games-played bonuses. Benn receives $200k after playing 10, 20, and 40 games next season for the Stars, another $150k for making the playoffs, and an additional $100k for every round the Stars advance.
