New Insider Interview With Quinn Hughes Has Minnesota Wild Fans Stoked
I'm excited to go back. Me and Billy (GM Bill Guerin) we'll be talking more, I'm sure... I don't feel like something needs to get done in the next day or so, but if it does, it does. I'm excited to get going at camp and me and Billy will be in constant communication, I'm pretty close with him...I kind of feel at peace. I'm excited to play with Brock (Faber) again, and I'm excited to be on the power-play with Bolds (Matt Boldy) and Kirill (Kaprizov) and continue building with those guys.
And then the one line that everyone will talking about, as he discussed how both he and Guerin will be working together:
I’m sure we’re going to work it out.
Boom.
Quinn Hughes hopped on 32 Thoughts and talked pretty positively about his future contract negotiations with Guerin. 👀

Wild fans are breathing a huge sigh of relief after hearing that. Reports that came out earlier indicated that Hughes was undecided about his future in Minnesota. But from hearing this interview, it sure sounds like he's excited to get back with the team.
Now, for how long he might sign for, that's another story. He's signed through this coming season and would become an unrestricted free agent next summer if an extension is not agreed to.
His brother Jack Hughes is signed with the New Jersey Devils through 2030 and the third brother Luke has a deal there that will take him through 2032. They've all made no bones about the fact that the three of them do want to play together in the NHL at some point.
But for the immediate future, it sounds like Minnesota hockey fans should be looking forward to Quinn Hughes lacing it up with them for just a bit longer.
