Report: Pittsburgh Penguins shopping forward Alex Galchenyuk

According to hockey insider Elliotte Friedman,  the Pittsburgh Penguins have been actively shopping Alex Galchenyuk.

The insider went on to mention the team is trying to find a new home for the 25-year-old as since he's arrived from Arizona in a trade for Phil Kesell, Galchenyuk has been nothing but a disappointment.

The Pens felt Evgeni Malkin could take him under his wing before the season, and the two worked out together a lot, however, Galchenyuk can't seem to get going or stay healthy in Pitt, as he's appeared in 21 games and only has 2 goals and 10 points.

Jim Rutherford, the GM of the Pens, was recently quoted regarding Galchenyuk:
The fact of the matter is, when we're totally healthy, he's going to have to work very hard just to get into the top 12. That's just the way it is, because we have a lot of other guys playing well.
Galchenyuk is in the final season of a three year deal, that's paid him $14.7 million.

Keep an eye on the Ottawa Senators who have interest in Galchenyuk, and the Penguins would love to get their hands on J.G Pageau if he's not sticking around the nation's capital.
