Details Revealed on Why San Jose Wants to Trade Evander Kane

The San Jose Sharks are fed up with Evander Kane as reports have surfaced regarding extreme conflict between Kane and some of his teammates. Several of Kane's teammates voiced their displeasure during exit interviews with management and now general manager Doug Wilson is looking to move on.

Frank Seravalli of Daily Faceoff has Kane listed very high on his trade radar and after more details have surfaced, it appears Kane's days are numbered:

Doug Wilson is navigating choppy waters in the Bay Area. Sources indicate significant friction built up between Kane and a number of his teammates last season, frustration that was expressed clearly to management in exit interviews

This season Kane was productive despite the conflict and the off-ice drama, scoring 22 goals and 49 points in 56 games. The winger will be 30 when next season starts and still appears capable of scoring 20 goals per season. According to Cap Friendly, Kane has no-trade protection which sees him submit a list of 3 teams he can be traded to. That certainly will make things difficult, especially with four years left on his contract paying him $7 million per season.

The Sharks will end up moving Kane but they won't be able to get full value considering all the hoopla. Teams who could potentially have interest include the rival LA Kings, Minnesota Wild and Columbus Blue Jackets.  They can all expect to get a bargain.
