NHL Rumors: Avalanche Linked To Big-Name Forward

According to David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period, the Colorado Avalanche are another team linked to Vancouver Canucks forward J.T. Miller.

The Avalanche have been linked to a handful of big-name players over the last few months, so it isn't surprising that they are considering Miller, too. At this point of the season, they have a 37-10-4 record and lead the league in points with 78. Therefore, they are in a position where they can absolutely make a huge splash before the deadline. It will only help their chances of winning the Stanley Cup this postseason.

Miller's name has come in the rumor mill lately, but it's hard to determine if Vancouver will actually move him. General manager Jim Rutherford noted that the team isn't in a place where they need to rush moving players with term left. However, if Colorado can come up with the right package for the star forward, it's hard to believe that the Canucks wouldn't pull the trigger.

In 50 games this season, Miller has 18 goals, 35 assists, and a plus-2 rating. Since joining the Canucks, he has blossomed into a first-line talent. However, on a team like the Avalanche, he would have the potential to produce even more because of how strong their roster is. It will be intriguing to see if he ends up there before the deadline passes.
