St. Louis Blues Rumors: Defenseman Becoming Trade Candidate

It is not a secret that the St. Louis Blues will be making changes to their group after a poor 2022-23 season. As a result, one player who is starting to pick up some buzz in the rumor mill is Nick Leddy.

The Blues are looking to gain cap space to improve their roster elsewhere, so it would make sense for them to move a veteran defenseman like Leddy. After all, Leddy carries a $4 million cap hit until the end of the 2025-26 season. However, the major kicker for the Blues is that he has a full no-trade clause, so he will dictate if and where he will get moved.

There is no question that teams will call about Leddy this summer regardless, as he is a legitimate top-four defenseman who plays a steady defensive game. In 78 games this past season with the Blues, he had two goals, 23 points, and a plus-4 rating.

Nevertheless, we will now need to wait and see if the Blues can find a new home for Leddy this summer from here.
