Canucks Rumors: Vancouver Linked To 10 Trade Options

According to The Athletic’s Harman Dayal and Thomas Drance, the Vancouver Canucks could explore 10 trade targets as they look to retool their top-six forward group this summer.

After a frustrating 2024-25 season and limited appeal on the free-agent market, GM Patrik Allvin and president Jim Rutherford appear ready to get aggressive via trade. Their list includes big names like Alexis Lafrenière, Trevor Zegras, and Bryan Rust—players with upside who could inject skill, grit, or leadership into a team still trying to find its postseason breakthrough.

Lafrenière headlines the list as a potential buy-low opportunity. Despite a recent down year, he’s just one season removed from a 57-point breakout and still carries top-line upside. Meanwhile, Trevor Zegras may be the highest-risk, highest-reward name in the mix.

The 24-year-old’s flashy skillset has been slowed by injuries, but Vancouver could bank on his bounce-back potential. Other targets include Buffalo's JJ Peterka, who posted 68 points last season, and Marco Rossi, a 60-point center who may not be the ideal fit due to his size and heavy reliance on elite linemates.

The list also includes cap-shedding candidates like Mason Marchment, Nicolas Roy, and veteran scorers like Jonathan Marchessault and Brayden Schenn. Bryan Rust and Morgan Geekie round out the more dependable, versatile options.
