Jets Rumors: 3 Players Winnipeg Could End Up Losing This Summer

Nikolaj Ehlers, Winnipeg Jets

The Winnipeg Jets fell short yet again this postseason, and they are now facing an important offseason. They also have multiple pending unrestricted free agents this summer, so they very well could have a pretty different-looking roster next season.

Due to this, let's go over three players who the Jets are in danger of losing this offseason.

Nikolaj Ehlers

The expectation is that Ehlers will hit the free-agent market this offseason, and it certainly will be tough for the Jets if he does end up signing elsewhere. He has been a very important of their forward group for several years now, and the Jets would undoubtedly need to find a top-six forward to replace him if he walks.

Brandon Tanev

The Jets and Tanev reunited at the trade deadline this year, but there is a chance that his second stint in Winnipeg could be coming to an end. If the 33-year-old forward hits the market as a UFA this summer, there should be plenty of teams interested, as clubs are always looking for more grit and experience in their bottom six.

Mason Appleton

There is also a possibility that the Jets could lose Appleton this summer, as he can hit the market on July 1. The 29-year-old forward appeared in 71 games this season with the Jets, where he recorded 10 goals, 22 points, and a plus-7 rating. Teams looking for help on their third line and penalty kill will likely have Appleton on their radar if Winnipeg does not re-sign him.
