3 Golden Knights Trade Targets For 2025-26 Season

Alex Tuch, Buffalo Sabres
The Vegas Golden Knights are going to be right in the mix for the top spot in the NHL this season and they have built a solid lineup. That won't stop the team from upgrading by the trade deadline, especially if certain players near the end of their contract or on short-term deals are performing up to par. Whether it's bolstering the top-6 or adding good depth pieces, Vegas will be on the hunt and make at least one addition.

Alex Tuch, Buffalo Sabres

Alex Tuch would be a big swing for the Golden Knights and there were rumors earlier this year that he could find his way back to Vegas as a rental to close out this contract. The team has money with Alex Pietrangelo missing all of this season and Tuch's contract isn't too big at the moment. His next deal will be. Acquiring him would just be short-term, but it could really get them over the top with what Tuch has turned into as a player. There have been no playoffs in Buffalo and Tuch may decide to leave when his contract is up at the end of this season. Tuch could fit in on one of the top two lines, but could also make the third line so much better and spread out the wealth.

Jason Dickinson, Chicago Blackhawks

Maybe the Golden Knights are looking for someone more defensively-minded and to slot in the bottom-6 that would be a little easier to acquire and won't break the bank. The Chicago Blackhawks are going to be sellers at the deadline and have plenty of players who could be available. While Ilya Mikheyev showed he was the better player last season, Dickinson is great in the faceoff circle and very trusted to defend. Dickinson will be looking for a bounce back while Mikheyev is coming off a bounce back season and might find it tougher to replicate that.

Anthony Mantha, Pittsburgh Penguins

Vegas liked Anthony Mantha when the team acquired him from the Washington Capitals in the 2023-24 season. He scored three goals and 10 points in 18 games playing third line minutes as a rental, but then moved on. When Mantha is healthy, he has found his game again after a few years of struggles. He is just on a one-year deal with the Pittsburgh Penguins, who will very likely be sellers once again and is affordable to grab again at the deadline for some forward depth or an injury replacement.
