Insider Reveals Another NY Ranger Who Isn't Going Anywhere
New York Rangers GM Chris Drury sent out his 'retool' letter a couple of days back, and the furor surrounding the Blueshirts has reached a fever pitch. Who stays and who goes? Some reports say anybody (aside from goaltender Igor Shesterkin) is fair game.
But that's not truly the case. Several Rangers players have full no-move clauses, and Drury met individually with each and every one of those NMC cases, per insider Pierre LeBrun on TSN's Insider Trading.
As for the captain, JT Miller, LeBrun is puzzled to hear his name on the trade block.
His name is already out there, being bandied about, I'm not quite sure why, because what I was told today is that J.T. Miller has no intention of waiving his no-move clause and the Rangers have no intention of going to him to ask to waive it.
They traded for him last year and made him captain, and they still believe in the reasons why they made that move. JT Miller should not be part of whatever exodus of players goes out of New York.
Miller has four years left on his deal, and neither he, nor Mika Zibanejad, Adam Fox, Vladislav Gavrikov or Igor Shesterkin are inclined to waive their no-moves.
We have already heard that Artemi Panarin, a pending UFA, also with a full NMC, has been told he will not be offered an extension, and he is thought to be willing to consider potential new destinations in a trade, despite being 'confused' by the news.
One Ranger player is currently thought to have the highest value on the trade market, but he has a 12-team no-trade list.
