Insider Reveals Significant Update on Jordan Kyrou

All season long, we've been hearing rumors of Jordan Kyrou on the trade block for the St. Louis Blues, who are looking to do a major retool. A number of teams have been frequently connected to the scoring forward as interested parties.

But now, for the first time, we're hearing that the feeling is mutual, and the 27-year-old is seemingly ready to finally move on from all the trade talk surrounding him in St. Louis.

Insider David Pagnotta stated on the DFO Rundown this week that there is one thing necessary, first, though, for a deal, as Kyrou does hold a full no-trade clause.

I would be surprised if Kyrou was a member of the Blues next season. I'm not sure where those conversations are going to go over the next two weeks before the deadline but I believe he, as well, is open to a change of scenery and it's kind of just waiting to see when that happens. Is that now (by) March 6? Or is it going to be in the summer around the draft or something like that? Every indication I've been given as he is open to waving (his NTC) for the right situation.

So who’s got that right situation?

Kyrou has five more years remaining on an $8.125M cap hit after this season. He had three consecutive 30-goal seasons coming into this one. He's having a down year for the down-in-the-dumps Blues with 13 goals and 32 points in 57 games, but the 27-year-old has surely proven his legit upside on offense over the past few seasons.

The cap hit will make a deal difficult at the deadline, but if a team is desperate enough to add a top-six offensive threat to help them down the stretch and into the playoffs, anything can happen.

The Blues have many other notable names on the block, but Pagnotta thinks Kyrou will "jump the ranks" on a lot of trade boards as we get closer to March 6th.
