Martone was the Flyers first round pick (6th overall) in the 2025 NHL Draft.
Word is that he could be in the lineup as soon as Tuesday when the Flyers face the Washington Capitals. Philly is now just three points out of a playoff spot, and they will surely be glad to get some help from the sensational youngster to get them over the hump.
In his first and only season of NCAA collegiate hockey with Michigan State University, the 19-year-old racked up 50 points on 25 goals and 25 assists in 35 games. His 1.42 points-per-game mark ranked third among all first-year college players, behind only Ethan Wyttenbach and Gavin McKenna.
Before his one NCAA season, he tore up the OHL with the Steelheads in Brampton (and Mississauga), with 37 goals and 98 points in his last season there in 2024-25.
At the 2026 World Junior Championship, he led the tournament with six goals.
The 6-foot-3, 208-pound forward gets rave reviews from anyone who's been around him.
