New York Rangers set asking price for Vincent Trocheck trade
Vincent Trocheck was held out of games this season because of how active trade talks were around him, so heading into the offseason, expect to see the New York Rangers once again taking calls.
The Rangers are going to be retooling on the fly and know that Trocheck is likely their best trade asset to get back some players with high ceilings, and a ton of potential. Considering they won't be winning a Stanley Cup in the next three years, GM Chris Drury would be wise to maximize his return.
Trocheck, 32, has three seasons left on his current contract, paying him $5.6 million AAV. He holds a no-trade clause on his contract, however, this list of non-approved teams goes from 12 to 10 on July 1. Trocheck appeared in 67 games this season, scoring 16 goals and 53 points, averaging 20:33 of ice time per game.

As far as potential destinations go, don't be surprised to see the Edmonton Oilers, Anaheim Ducks, Seattle Kraken, Los Angeles Kings, and Detroit Red Wings involved in trade talks. The Carolina Hurricanes could also circle back, as they made a huge trade offer before March's deadline, but talks fizzled out shortly before the deadline passed.
The Rangers are looking for a young player, loaded with potential, who can step into the lineup immediately next season and make an impact. It won't be a one-for-one trade, expect to see the Rangers stick to their guns, and ask for three pieces in return in the trade. A top prospect who is NHL ready, a cheap veteran bottom-six option, and a first, or second-round draft pick.
