NHL Rumors: 3 Calgary Flames Likely to be Traded
The Calgary Flames will be a team to watch very closely this offseason. With the Flames being in a rebuild, it is likely that a few of their players will be on the move this summer.
Due to this, let's look at three of the Flames' top trade candidates for the 2026 NHL Offseason.
Zach Whitecloud
Since being acquired by the Flames from the Vegas Golden Knights in the Rasmus Andersson trade, questions about Whitecloud's future in Calgary have come up. With the Flames rebuilding, Whitecloud stands out as a prime trade chip for them to dangle in the summer. Teams are always on the hunt for top-four right-shot defensemen, so the Flames could get a nice return for him if they decide to move him.
Blake Coleman
Coleman was one of the NHL's most popular trade candidates leading up to the deadline, but ended up staying put. However, the expectation is that the Flames will listen to offers on Coleman again this summer. Coleman is entering the final season of his contract in 2026-27, and he is exactly the kind of hard-nosed forward that contenders will be willing to pay a lot to land in a trade.
Morgan Frost
Frost is another Flames forward to keep an eye on this summer. The 26-year-old center will be entering the final year of his deal in 2026-27, so it would be understandable if the Flames made him available. The skilled center is coming off a solid year with the Flames, posting 22 goals, 21 assists, and 43 points in 82 games.
