Keep an eye on the Pittsburgh Penguins during draft weekend, as all signs are pointing to them making a giant splash.

According to multiple reports, the Penguins are one of the teams in on Dallas Stars restricted free-agent forward Jason Robertson, and despite Robertson blocking trades to the Seattle Kraken and St. Louis Blues, word is the star left winger is open to playing with Sidney Crosby and the Penguins.

Robertson's without a contract for next season and is looking for something around the $14-15 million range per season. He scored 45 goals and 51 assists last season for 96 points in 82 games, and at 26, is in the prime of his career. The Pens are trying to find their next wave of core players and Robertson certainly fits the bill.

The Penguins have a whopping $37 million in cap space entering the NHL Draft Friday, and also own a first-rounder and two seconds in both this year's, and next year's draft. The Stars don't want a future considerations package for Robertson, as they'll create a giant hole within their top-six, so the Penguins will have to pony up a blockbuster offer to get the Stars to bite.

Look for Kyle Dubas to offer a few draft picks, along a package that could include a couple of Rutger McGroarty, Filip Hallander, Harrison Brunicke, and Owen Pickering, Joel Blomqvist.

The Stars aren't eager to move Robertson, but it's becoming obvious he's out of their price range, as Dallas doesn't have much for cap space to work with this summer. It's going to be an interesting few days across the NHL, and the Penguins and Stars are going to be right in the middle of the chaos.
