He's only been with the franchise for a few days, but Jack Drury is now set for a long-term relationship with the Nashville Predators. The two sides have agreed on a five-year extension.

The deal comes with a $4.5 million AAV for Drury. He was acquired as a restricted free agent by the Preds in a trade with the Colorado Avalanche last week. It's a huge raise for the 26-year-old, as he was coming off a two-year, $1.73 million AAV deal.

He has a no-trade clause built in for Years 2 and 3 of his new deal, and an 8-team no-trade list for the 4th and 5th years.

Many feel that the big pay raise is indicative of the fact that the Predators see Drury as a third-line center going forward, as opposed to the fourth-line role he's been playing with Colorado, and prior to that, with Carolina.

Drury reached double-digits in goals for the first time this past season, notching 10, while tying a career-high with 27 points. He also set a new personal best in plus/minus rating, with a +15. He's finished around the top 10 in the NHL in face-off win percentage the past couple of years, this past season at 58.1%.

He excels on the defensive end of the rink, and will be a huge addition for Nashville on the penalty kill as well.
