The Philadelphia Flyers are set to finalize a five-year extension with starting netminder Dan Vladar, according to insider Pierre LeBrun. The deal will come with a $5.5 million AAV.

The deal can't be officially announced until July 1, when he becomes eligible for an extension. He's heading into the final season of his previous two-year deal with a $3.35M AAV. The new extension will kick in for the 2027-28 season, and will run through the 2031-32 campaign.

The Flyers finally found their answer in goal last season after acquiring Vladar from the Calgary Flames. Although the 28-year-old had previously been a career backup, never having started more than 29 games in a season, he quickly established himself as a reliable starter between the pipes for Philly.

Vladar posted a 29-14-7 record in 50 starts this past year, with a .906 save percentage and a 2.42 goals against average, in leading them to the playoffs. He finished 6th in the Vezina Trophy voting for the NHL's top goaltender.

The Flyers also obtained an excellent tandem partner for him earlier this offseason, trading for Joseph Woll from the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Vladar has a career .898 Sv% and a 2.80 GAA.
