Report: Blues Take One Big Name Off The Trade Block

The St. Louis Blues finally traded Jordan Kyrou this week after so many months on the trade block. They dealt Justin Faulk at the deadline back in March. But as everyone around hockey knows, several other big names have been available since mid-season. That includes goaltender Jordan Binnington, center Robert Thomas and defenseman Colton Parayko.

Earlier this month, we were told that Thomas was staying put in St. Louis. He was now unavailable. Now, we're learning that Parayko, too, is OFF the board. He's not going anywhere.

The Blues have obviously had second thoughts on what to do with the shutdown, 6'6" defender. Back at the deadline in March, the Blues had agreed to trade him to the Buffalo Sabres, but Parayko invoked his no-trade clause, voiding the deal.

Now, he's definitely sticking around St. Louis for the long term. The 33-year-old has four years left on his contract, at a $6.5 million AAV.

Parayko had an off year offensively, with only four goals and 18 points. But he remained an elite shot-blocker and defensive force. He blocked 169 shots, and added 94 hits.

Binnington is still available from the Blues, and there are several teams that he's been linked to, including the Toronto Maple Leafs, Florida Panthers, and others. They're still a team to keep an eye on.
