Avalanche Land Jaden Schwartz On Multi-Year Deal

The Colorado Avalanche are adding a proven veteran scorer to their forward group.

Per David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period, Jaden Schwartz is signing a three-year contract with Colorado carrying a $3.25 million average annual value.

The move ends Schwartz's run with the Seattle Kraken, where he was an original member and alternate captain since the franchise's inaugural season.

Why He Fits Colorado

Schwartz, 34, is a reliable two-way winger and one of the more dependable net-front presences available on the market.

He led the Kraken in goals with 26 during the 2024-25 season, though his most recent campaign was limited to 50 games due to a series of unlucky injuries, including a skate to the face in March.

When healthy, he is a legitimate 20-goal scorer who contributes on both special teams units.

He also brings championship pedigree, having won a Stanley Cup with the St. Louis Blues in 2019, when he scored 20 points across 26 playoff games during that run.

For Colorado, this is a strong value addition at a manageable price.

At $3.25 million per season, Schwartz slots into a middle-six role on a genuine contender, giving the Avalanche veteran depth, playoff experience, and a proven finisher to support their star-driven core.

Schwartz has 233 goals and 553 points across 861 career regular-season games split between the Blues and Kraken, and now brings that experience to a Colorado team firmly in win-now mode.
