NHL Trade: Dallas Stars Send RFA Mavrik Bourque to Central Division Rival

The news started leaking this morning that the Dallas Stars were working on a trade of pending restricted free agent Mavrik Bourque. That has now come to fruition, as the Stars are sending the young forward to the Nashville Predators.

Nashville also gets Ilya Lyubushkin in the deal, per Elliotte Friedman, while Nashville’s own 2nd round pick in 2027 and Vegas’ 3rd round pick in 2028 are going to Dallas. Lyubushkin has one season at $3.25 million remaining on his contract.

The Stars were desperate to head off an offer sheet, which would almost certainly have been coming Bourque's way.
