SIGNED: Oliver Bjorkstrand Signs With Metropolitan Division Team
Per Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet, Bjorkstrand is signing a one-year, $4.5M deal with the Rangers.
Bjorkstrand spent last season with the Tampa Bay Lightning, posting 12 goals and 20 assists for 32 points in 80 games. His previous contract carried a $5.4 million cap hit and expired after the 2025-26 season, making him one of the more notable middle-six winger options available.

Why Bjorkstrand Fits The Rangers
This is a pretty straightforward add for New York.
Bjorkstrand gives the Rangers another right-shot winger with scoring history, playoff experience, and enough offensive skill to move around the lineup depending on how the rest of their forward group shakes out.

The production dipped in Tampa, which is why this is not some perfect no-risk signing. But the player did not suddenly forget how to score. He had a smaller role with the Lightning, and the Rangers are likely betting that a better fit can get more out of him.
Over the past five seasons, the 31-year-old has recorded 101 goals and 239 total points across 402 games played.
