DONE DEAL: Sergei Bobrovsky Signs With Toronto Maple Leafs

The Toronto Maple Leafs have, as expected, signed legendary goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky in free agency.

It's a three-year deal with a $7 million AAV. This is certainly more palatable than the six-year ask he had originally made of Florida.

The Leafs will be adding a two-time Stanley Cup winner, two-time Vezina Trophy winner, and current active leader in all-time goalie wins.

Bobrovsky, 37, will be reuniting with several of his Cup-winning teammates from the Panthers in backup goalie Anthony Stolarz, forward Steven Lorentz, and defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson.

Last season in Florida, Bob posted a 27-23-1 record, an .877 save percentage, a 3.07 GAA, and four shutouts, in numbers far below his usual. In his 16-year career, he owns a .912 Sv% and 2.60 GAA with 456 wins.

For the Leafs, their goaltending situation has taken shape after dealing Joseph Woll last month. In addition to Bobrovsky and Stolarz, they have promising young talent  Artur Akhtyamov. The latter backstopped the AHL's Marlies to the Calder Cup this spring, with an incredible playoff run with a .923 Sv%.

He now has an ideal mentor in Bobrovsky.
