Carolina Hurricanes Acquire Former 3rd-Round Pick From Buffalo Sabres
The NHL's trade market has slowed down considerably since the calendar flipped to August, but that doesn't mean there aren't minor deals being finalized. On Monday, the Carolina Hurricanes announced they've acquired winger Stiven Sardarian from the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for future considerations.
Before his college career, the Russian winger tallied 25 points (8g, 17a) in 46 USHL games with the Youngstown Phantoms in 2021-22 and also spent the majority of the 2020-21 season with Krasnaya Armiya Moskva in the MHL, recording nine goals and 21 assists for 30 points in 50 games.
Sardarian is a former third-round pick of the Sabres back in 2021, 88th overall, and was recently named Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) forward of the year in 2026 and a first time all-star after leading the CCHA in assists, and points. The #Canes have acquired forward Stiven Sardarian from the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for future considerations.
