NHL Trade Report: Viktor Arvidsson will be traded by Edmonton Oilers

The Edmonton Oilers are going to look much different next season among their bottom six.

According to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet, the hockey insider feels the Oilers are planning on trading forward Viktor Arvidsson. The 32-year-old winger couldn't find consistent production in Edmonton, and was often taken out of the lineup, which is a far cry from the expectations the organization and fanbase put on him once he arrived.

Arvidsson appeared in 67 games last season, scoring 15 goals and 27 points, and chipped in with seven points in 15 Stanley Cup Playoff games. It was Arvidsson's first season in Edmonton after spending the previous three with the Los Angeles Kings.

His career started with the Nashville Predators, taken #112 overall in the fourth round of the 2014 NHL Draft. Throughout his career, Arvidsson has appeared in 613 career NHL games, scored 194 goals, and 398 points.

Edmonton has just $550,834 in cap space to work with entering free agency, after they inked Evan Bouchard to a massive extension, and traded away Evander Kane to the Vancouver Canucks. Arvidsson is owed $4 million next season, the last on his contract. He does hold a no-movement clause, and will have full control of where he winds up this offseason.
