Stunning Development As Brock Boeser Re-Signs with Canucks
In a stunning turn of events, pending unrestricted free agent Brock Boeser and the Vancouver Canucks have come to terms on a long-term extension to prevent the scoring forward from leaving B.C.

Boeser will be staying in Vancouver on a seven-year deal with a $7.25 AAV.
The two sides were appearing to be headed to an ugly divorce, but the Canucks have somehow managed to keep their longest-serving player on board for the long term.
Boeser is a sniper. He had 25 goals this past season on a 17.2% shooting percentage, and 40 goals the year before on 19.6% shooting pct. He's been with the Canucks for his entire nine-year career and said all along that he did not want to leave. But he wasn't pleased with the way contract talks had been going, all throughout the season. Both sides eventually came around, and each side seemed to bend a little. The $7.5M cap hit is reasonable for a scorer of his stature.
But perhaps the person who might be most pleased about this signing is UFA Nikolaj Ehlers. The Winnipeg Jets forward is now the only premium offensive player left on the free agent market, and his price tag is bound to go up.
