Golden Knights & Red Wings In Advanced Trade Talks

The Vegas Golden Knights and Detroit Red Wings could be doing some major business together this summer, as all signs are pointing to them finalizing a deal involving Dylan Larkin.

Larkin has asked out of Detroit, after battling it out with general manager Steve Yzerman for the past couple of seasons. Larkin isn't happy with how Yzerman has handled the roster, and has publicly called him out for his lack of moves to get the Red Wings over the hump.

Larkin's made it very clear he's not interested in staying in Detroit and wants to get traded to the Dallas Stars, Golden Knights, Minnesota Wild, or Florida Panthers. There's also been speculation the Tampa Bay Lightning, Montreal Canadiens, and Colorado Avalanche are on the list of approvals.

The 29-year-old center has five years left on his contract at $8.7 million AAV, and owns control of his destiny. There's been some speculation that Yzerman is going to play hardball, and we could see Larkin back at Red Wings' training camp, if the right deal doesn't present itself.

As far as trade offer goes, the Golden Knights moved out Pavel Dorofeyev, who signed for $11 million AAV with the Rangers, and now Vegas has a giant hole in the top six of their lineup. They enter day 2 of the NHL Draft with $4.6 million AAV, and with several pending free agents, the Golden Knights will need to get very creative if they're going to pull this off.

Adin Hill will be moved, and the same is likely happening for Tomas Hertl. We'll see where Larkin fits in all this.
